Technical specifications of the lead glass panel:

Lead glass panels have no sealing function due to their composition which is based on lead salts. In order to reinforce the structure of the whole, the panels we offer include a central butyral film that is integral and sandwiched between two other sheets of glass.

For Example: a total 18mm thick panel is made up of:
. 1 lead glass, minimum thickness 8.5mm
. 1 central plastic film th. 1.5mm
. 1 float glass thickness 8 mm

Light transmission rate (d=5mm) 85%

For Gamma radiation and X-rays, only thick layers (lead, steel, concrete) are effective in attenuating this exposure. When there is a high level of exposure to radiation but which still allows for the products to be handled in a glove box, it is possible to mount lead glass overpanels. In calculating the thickness of glass, the conceptual model of prevention is traditionally based on three words: screen – distance – time.

Closed-loop gas recirculation systems designed by JACOMEX do not generate a rise in temperature and therefore do not require additional specific cooling.

Nevertheless some processes or instruments placed in glove boxes can be the cause of an elevation of temperature of the atmosphere of the glove box. Similarly, if the glove box is not installed in an air-conditioned room and the ambient temperature can reach 35 ° to 40 ° C in periods of high heat, we will advise case by case either an air conditioning or an air exchanger / water connected to the purification circuit.
